ESSD – European Society For Swallowing Disorders
The European Society for Swallowing Disorders is an association of and for health care providers working, doing research and studying in the field of dysphagia and swallowing disorders.
With the aim to provide therapies that are scientifically proven safe & effective, and administered by qualified therapists, DJO Global has always been highly committed to science and education.
DJO Global has a close relationship with the ESSD for research and educational projects.
Starting in the academic year 2016-2017, the ESSD developed a Swallowing Disorders Post-graduate course. In line with the objectives of the ESSD to improve standards of health care, promote research and provide education for professionals in the field, the association deemed it necessary to design and implement this postgraduate course for personnel managing oropharyngeal dysphagia and its complications. This multi-disciplinary course offers advanced training in the specific area of oropharyngeal dysphagia, including professional practice with clinical cases.
